The Tempest
by William Shakespeare
Lighting Designer
The classic story of Prospero and his daughter, Miranda, as he executes his plan to reclaim his rightful reign of Milan. When working on this production, it was important to convey to the audience that we were on a mystical, yet barren island. I achieved this by contrasting warmer, rosy hues with darker, stormy hues as Prospero’s “storm” drifted away and the reasons behind it became known.
