A mysterious knight who arrives, in a boat drawn by a swan, to help a noble lady in distress. He marries her but forbids her to ask his origin; she later forgoes this promise, and he leaves her, never to return. Directed by Susan Hanson.
An Elaborate Entrance
The arrival of an angel should be no less than mesmerizing. Through the use of a downstage scrim, Lohengrin entered Brabant through a dramatic, swirling, geometric, portal of light. Lohengrin’s armor represented the swan who brought him to Brabant. I took a 3D scan using PolyCam of the armor costume piece (designed by Mallory Prucha) to include in his arrival.
